This Privacy Policy is issued in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and applicable rules made thereunder.

India Futures Forum (“we,” “our,” or “us”) acts as a Data Fiduciary in relation to the personal data collected through https://indiafuturesforum.org. We are committed to processing your personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently.

1. Personal Data We Collect

We practice data minimization and collect only the personal data necessary to fulfill the specific purposes outlined below. We collect data directly from you when you interact with our website:

  • Identity Data: First Name and Last Name.
  • Contact Data: Email Address.
  • Technical Log Data: IP address, browser type, and standard access timestamps generated automatically by web hosting server logs for security monitoring.

2. Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing

In accordance with Section 6 of the DPDP Act, 2023, we process your personal data based on your specified and free consent, obtained for the following defined purposes:

  • Sending updates, analytical insights, and digital newsletters published by India Futures Forum.
  • Issuing invitations to webinars, roundtable discussions, and collaborative events organized by us.
  • Responding to voluntary inquiries sent to contact@indiafuturesforum.org.

We do not use your personal data for commercial profiling, automated decision-making, targeted advertising, or direct marketing on behalf of third parties.

3. Protection of Children’s Personal Data

In compliance with Section 9 of the DPDP Act, 2023:

  • Our website and activities are intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
  • We do not knowingly collect or process personal data of children (defined as individuals under 18 years of age) or persons with disabilities for whom a lawful guardian has been appointed, without verifiable parental or legal guardian consent.
  • We do not engage in behavioral monitoring, tracking, or targeted advertising directed at children.

4. Data Sharing and Transfer

  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to any commercial entities.
  • Data Processors: We may engage vetted third-party Data Processors (such as secure email delivery platforms) to deliver newsletters and communications. Such Data Processors act strictly under written contractual obligations in line with the DPDP Act.
  • Cross-Border Transfers: If personal data is transferred or stored outside India via cloud infrastructure, such transfers will comply with cross-border transfer rules notified by the Central Government of India under Section 16 of the DPDP Act.
  • Statutory Compliance: We may disclose personal data where required under law, judicial orders, or lawful directions issued by Indian law enforcement agencies.

5. Rights of the Data Principal

Under Chapter III of the DPDP Act, 2023, as a Data Principal, you hold the following rights regarding your personal data:

  1. Right to Access Information: You have the right to request a summary of the personal data held by us, the processing activities undertaken, and the identities of any Data Processors with whom it has been shared.
  2. Right to Correction and Erasure: You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data, or the erasure of your personal data where it is no longer necessary for the specified purpose.
  3. Right to Withdraw Consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Every email update contains an “Unsubscribe” link. Alternatively, you may send a written request to contact@indiafuturesforum.org. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
  4. Right of Grievance Redressal: You have the right to seek redressal for any grievance regarding the processing of your personal data through our designated Data Protection Officer/Grievance Officer.
  5. Right to Nominate: You have the right to nominate an individual who shall, in the event of death or incapacity, exercise your rights under the DPDP Act.

6. Security Safeguards & Data Retention

  • We implement reasonable security safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/SSL), restricted access controls, and regular server maintenance, to prevent personal data breaches.
  • Personal data is retained only for as long as you remain opted-in to receive communications. Upon withdrawal of consent or receipt of an erasure request, your personal data will be permanently deleted from our active databases, subject to any statutory retention requirements under Indian law.

7. Grievance Redressal Mechanism

In compliance with Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and Section 13 of the DPDP Act, 2023, you may contact our Grievance Officer regarding any privacy concerns or data rights requests:
